Rotary Governor Engineer MA declared Annual program of Rotary.At the commencement of the 2022-23 Rotary Year, Engineer MA Wahab, Honorable Governor of Rotary District 3281, said thatRotary International Null Bangladesh has spent over Rs 100 crore on implementation of public welfare projects across the country in FY 2021-22. Rotary’s program will be further strengthened in the next financial year.
He was speaking at a press conference at the National Press Club on Thursday morning, chaired by Rotary Additional Governor Abul Khair Chowdhury. Also spoken on District Governor (elect) Md. Ashrafuzzaman Nannu, former Governor K.M Zainul Abedin, Dr. Mir Anisuzzaman, M Khairul Alam, Executive District Secretary Atiqur Rahman, District Secretary, external Affairs Shereen Bon, President of Cosmopolitan Rotary Khandaker Omar Farooq and Past Governors. The Governor said that the first of July will be the auspicious start of the 2022-23 Rotary Year.

More than 12 lakh Rotarians from more than 33,000 clubs around the world will celebrate the New Rotary Year through various service initiatives as well as various activities. On this occasion, the first day of the new year will be celebrated in Bangladesh with a special program, Governor MA Wahab mentioned at the press conference.On July 1, colorful processions will be held in different cities across the country. The procession will be held in Dhaka at Hatirjheel at 9 am.The district installation will be held at Bangabandhu International Conference Center on the afternoon of July 1 tomorrow. The chief guest was the President of the Rotary International.Chief Adviser of Rotary District 3271, Liberation War Affairs Minister Akam Mozammel Haque, Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun, Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi, State Minister for Disaster and Relief Dr Md Enamur Rahman will be present on the occasion.

The four ministers are members of Rotary International.This year’s Rotary theme is “Imagine Rotary,” the Rotary governor said. Jennifer Jones, the first woman president in the history of international Rotary, called for a Rotary world where all Rotarians’ dreams and aspirations, including the establishment of world peace and a polio-free world, would come true and a spiritual understanding between people would change.District Governor MA Wahab, while outlining his work plan for the year, expressed his determination to make the impact and activities of Rotary far-reaching, participatory and more relevant. He also spoke about Rotary’s plans to strengthen Rotary clubs by recruiting new members and enhancing the skills of its members, and to accelerate Rotary’s maternal and child health and education activities under this theme. He said a voluntary blood donation campaign would be conducted across the country and a total of 60 bags of blood would be collected throughout the year with the participation of Rotarians and volunteers.

60 poor and meritorious students will be assisted by donating scholarships and teaching materials.60 mothers and children will be assisted in improving the overall quality of life including healthcare.The Vocational Service Award Ceremony for the best workers in the region will be organized as part of the promotion of the profession to create recognition and work awareness. A Rotary volunteer team of 200 people will be formed, who will volunteer for Rotary needs and during various natural disasters. Necessary training will be imparted to 60 youths to enhance their leadership skills.Extensive campaigns will be launched in all the towns of Rotary District 3261 to raise awareness against noise pollution.
